You can always tell when the end of the month is near. The police are out in droves to give tickets and meet their quota. I’m so glad that July is finally behind us, but Second Summer in Tennessee is a real kicker. It’s going to be SO MUCH HOTTER now. I had to run to Walmart and splurge on a new fan. It’s loud, but we decommissioned the window air conditioning unit so we’re trying to keep things chill in the room.
Even with the main house air conditioner turned on all the way, the outside temperature had the indoor temperature at 72 degrees. It was very warm. Then again, I also have hypohydrosis. I can’t sweat. Today was a great example of that. Uechi Ryu class involved a few warm up Sanchin’s then we went straight into Sparring Drills to prepare for a karate tournament in October. I seriously doubt that I will compete in it, but the practice is nice.
My SO’s gi was soaked with sweat. The collar was drenched. And I was dry as a bone. As usual. I just heat up and become miserable. There’s a few spots I’ll sweat. And in general I’ll get a bit damp, but not enough to actually cool me off. I really did enjoy the sparring drills though. It’s been years since I did anything like that and it really reminded me of my Tae Kwan Do days. Now I’ve got a hankering to go watch some of the karate stuff in the Olympics.
I’ve really enjoyed some of the Tik Tok videos that Olympic competitors have been sharing. It’s nice to see their living conditions, the precautions being taken for their health, and etcetera. The cardboard beds are a hoot, but at least they’re taking into account the amount of waste created by these events. Social Media presence these days just really opens our eyes to things we never honestly were privy to see in the past.
I’m honestly amazed that I managed to make it all through July doing blog posts every day. I know some of the writing isn’t perfect, but it’s been a lot of fun keeping up with it each day. I’m hoping that as my Manic brain starts to slow down a bit, I’ll gain some more focus and possibly be able to write some posts ahead of time. I don’t really know what I’m doing and I’m going through this by the seat of my pants.
Thanks as always though for following me in this journey! I hope to write more in August and hope that everyone else’s upcoming month goes well.
