I have a laptop that I bought quite some time ago for doing social media work while I was “working” for an anime convention. This wasn’t a real paying gig, mostly just work that I enjoyed doing for friends and an event that I care deeply about. I don’t think I’ve attended any conventions in the past decade that was for pleasure. It’s always been working events.
I don’t mind that, since I really enjoy being active when my mental health is good. Convention brain is a lot like Manic brain though. Very active, racing thoughts, and task juggling. Especially back during a time when social media wasn’t something that was greatly studied. There weren’t majors in this field back when I first started doing the work.
Now some programs can help you juggle Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter, and Tik Tok like a boss. They can tell you how long a video should be, or how many words should go into a post. What time you should make your post. What images to use to be the most eye-catching. Advertisement for the internet, I guess is a big appeal.
I’ll be honest, that’s never concerned me. Like my blog here. This is a project for me. That I enjoy. And I love having folks read my blog, but I’m not fishing to become an online influencer.
Gosh, I started rambling on a tangent. Sorry. So the whole point of this post was supposed to be the brainstorming of a laptop. I have a minor amount of emergency money right now. Eventually, I would love to get a laptop. For artwork, video gaming, streaming, and writing my posts for the blog. At the moment, I think I’m going to have to work up a buffer of posts for the Christmas Holidays. I’m planning to go see my Big Sis and my lovely Nieces in Florida for the week of Christmas.

I have very little data on my cellphone plan so I’ll be relying mostly on wifi. And I hope to bring my tablet. I tend to mostly draw and watch streaming services on the tablet though. At one point I tried to use a Bluetooth keyboard, but it really isn’t the greatest medium for writing.
When it comes to researching for an item I want/need. I’m a stickler for checking out different options and prices and when might be the best time to buy. Probably won’t be any time soon, since the holidays are a bit lean for us this year. The trip is eating funds. And my SO is having to bear the brunt of holiday gifts for our stepdaughter so we’ll have to tighten the belt to survive the rest of the year.

I’m not usually a laptop person. I’ll always love my desktop tower. But I do tend to be a weirdo on occasion and just want to stay in bed. It’s my owl nest! So maybe having a laptop would be a good investment as well. I’m really tough on technology though, so I worry about finding something built to handle me. My phone and tablet both have Otterbox level protective cases.

I’m going to look around for “Black Friday” sales and see if anyone looks good. What are your go-to websites for checking out technology stuff? I know that I’m missing some places besides Amazon. My brain just can’t parse together coherent ideas right now. Drop me some suggestions in the comments. Thanks for reading and see you guys tomorrow!
