I grew up in Southern Georgia, but I currently have settled in Tennessee. The northern part of Georgia is like a nice mixture of both places. My oldest niece found us a great cabin in Ellijay to spend Christmas. I’ve personally never used AirBnB before, so this was an interesting experience. HERE is a link to the listing. WARNING: There was a gravel road leading to the cabin and then the driveway had a steep hill with a hairpin turn in it.

Overall, really loved the place. We had issues with the hot tub and had to be careful about the number of trash bags we used. There were notes about excess trash being left behind which would result in fines. Which really sucks when you’re spending Christmas at a place. Lots of trash from the presents. We burned anything that was safe to burn in the firepit.

Sadly, there was supposed to be a chiminea at the cabin as well, but one of the previous people staying there cracked it so it wasn’t available.

Destination Christmas was an amazing experience. Even without a Christmas tree, we had a ton of fun. Experiencing a new place was pleasant. And just getting to relax was nice. We didn’t really even go anywhere besides the cabin except on our last day. We went into town and looked at some shops and had some lunch before hitting the road.

I love the atmosphere of small towns. The prices were really reasonable. The girls did some shopping for clothes and such while we were there. The food was great at the Cantaberry. I had the hot beef and pepper jack sandwich. The girls said the soup was amazing. And the chocolate caramel cake was HUGE. We all split a slice together.
Even though a lot of stuff was closed because of Christmas and it was also a Sunday when we finally ventured out, it was still really nice. We cooked a bunch in the kitchen and even ordered Christmas dinner from a BBQ join in town. They allowed pick up Christmas Eve day. We’re thinking of doing another destination Christmas for 2022. Is there any location that you just absolutely love and think would be great for the holiday season?
