Gas prices have risen to $4 a gallon. So trips are being limited. Going out only when it’s necessary… but that’s still hard because my SO and I want to keep up with karate. And taking my stepdaughter to and from school is NOT an option. School is still very much in person.

To combat some of my worries and anxiety, I took some time to pamper myself today. After taking my MIL to and from her doctor’s appointment. I used some of the nail polishes my sweet niece gave me for Christmas to paint my nails. My hands aren’t very … modelesque. But I think the design turned out pretty nice.
What sort of things do you do when you’re feeling anxious?
I made one of my favorite comfort meals for lunch. Just plain rice and some sunny-side-up eggs. A splash of furikake and soy sauce. Heaven. Not a lot of work, but it sits so well on my belly. And good protein. I’m missing having fresh chicken eggs. MIL and I talked a bit about having chickens again. We’ve got to build a new chicken house because the previous one was demolished.

I also had some Boba tea! Well, milk tea with some tapioca pearls. Because nothing is more relaxing than tea. Tea brings so much sereni-tea. Haha, forgive my puns. But I love these pearls. They’re so easy. You put them in some hot water, get them boiling, and once they float, you let them cook for two to three minutes so they’ll be chewy all the way through.

I don’t have a Boba tea-friendly straw, so I usually fish the pearls out and nom on them with a spoon. I’ll have to spring for straws soon. I might add it to order since I haven’t replaced my sleep headphones yet either. Not a very eventful day today, sadly. I have a lot of errands tomorrow which involve some waiting so I might have some art to share then. Thanks for stopping by!
